Post #7: Easy DIY Make-Up Brush Holder

Hello Beautiful People!

Today we are doing another DIY project and this time it will be some make-up brush holders! This is going to be a super easy tutorial and it only takes a few minutes to do!

Everything below I was able to buy at the dollar tree and at Walmart. To make these brush holders I only spent  $8

Here is everything you are going to need:
Mason Jars (2) $2
Firebeads (2 bags) $2
Acrylic Paint $1
Paint Brush $2
Burlap $1

Step 1:
Take one of your mason jars and paint the inside with the color you have chosen (I decided on black because it matches with all of my make up items). Just drop a little bit inside the jar and work your way all around the inside with the brush.

This is what it should look like at the end
Now let it dry for at least an hour!

Step 2:
Grab the other mason jar you have and open a bag of the water beads and simply pour the bag inside the mason jar. I decided to choose light blue firebeads but you can choose whatever color you wish!
Pour the firebeads into the mason jar
Pour it until you fill the jar half way like this!

Step 3:
Add some make-up brushes! Once the painted jar is dry add the firebeads to that jar and fill it half way like the other jar and then add the make-up brushes.
That's what it should look like :)
Step 4:
Put your new make-up brushes on a place were you can admire them and use them on a daily basis!

Well guys there you have it! This was super easy and super fun to do, I hope you all have enjoyed it as well :) Now if you would like to get more fancy and add a few more aspects to your make-up brush holders, watch this easy tutorial below on how to make an easy DIY Mason Jar organizer!

Post # 5: ROSS Dress for Less Clothing Haul

Hello Beautiful People!

Topeka has recently been blessed with a new store; ROSS Dress for Less. This store is a store where you can find various items, at a lower price and for a good quality. The store just had its grand opening last week, and with the opening and the low prices, I thought it would be a wonderful idea to do a clothing haul. I love being cheap (since I am currently in college), but I also like good quality clothing. I honestly had never really bought clothing from a ROSS store before, since we didn't have one in Topeka. So before going shopping, I wasn't really sure what I was going to find. Gladly,  I ended up finding some really cute clothing items at a really cheap price, so the trip was definitely worth it!

In this blog I will be sharing with you the items I was able to buy. All of the items I bought were from $5 to $10, and they are actually pretty good quality. I found some clothing pieces that could be priced at $20 in other stores--for basically the exact same thing! Honestly, I was satisfied and I had a great time shopping for cheap so I will definitely be returning to see what other treasures I find at the store!

*Side note: I would like to say a special thank you to my sister for modeling these clothing items for me!*

First thing I found was this beautiful floral romper. The romper is really soft, and when I tried it on it was extremely comfortable. I loved the pattern and it is really easy to dress up with some jewelry, wedges or even heels. This was definitely a good find!

I got this other brown and tan romper too because they were both only 6 dollars, super adorable and felt super soft.  I think the material of these rompers will hold up nice, they are soft, and the colors were really vibrant.

Next I found this white and red tank. I thought this was really cute and I could wear it with either white pants/shorts or jean pants/shorts. For this outfit we sort of dressed it down a little by using some light wash ripped shorts, but you easily dress it up with some white ankle length slacks and some red or white flats.

Next I found this jean vest. I have really been loving on jean material shirts lately. I think a shirt like this is really easy to combine with other colors. I had my sister just wear the shirt with black shorts but you could easily wear red, tan, white or any colored shorts that one would prefer to add your own style to it.

Then I found this oversized jean shirt. I LOVE this shirt. It is so comfortable and it feels so soft. Adding jewelry to the shirt is an easy way to dress it up, or you can wear it more relaxed with a pair of black shorts and no jewelry, like my sister did.

This shirt is SO comfortable as well. I like the fact that it said dreamer on it, because I love to dream about big things. I'm thinking about wearing this shirt with some white converse and jean shorts, to give it my own kind of twist to it.

I was also really happy when I found this white, red and gray shirt. It is so cute and super comfortable as well. I will probably wear this with white or jean shorts. Here my sister is wearing tan colored shoes but adding some white sandals would really be a nice touch to this outfit.

Next I found this green and tan shirt. I thought this was really cute especially because of the fringe detail on the arms and the bottom of the shirt. Even though the shirt is long sleeved, it will be okay to wear during a more cooler day because the knitted detail that allows airflow through the shirt.

This is probably one of my favorite items. The back of this shirt is actually fairly open held together by 2 gold buttons--it looks adorable when wearing a bandeau underneath it. The colors of the shirt are really vibrant and the material of the shirt if really soft and nice.  I can also make a business casual outfit by wearing this shirt with a black vest, and some black ankle length slacks alongside some flats of heels. This was a great find! I love it!

Lastly I got this patterned shirt that has really soft pastel colors. I'm thinking about wearing this shirt with tan colored shorts, white shorts or even jean shorts if I want to dress it down. The material of this shirt is really lightweight and soft. This is definitely a shirt that can be wore as a business casual outfit with tan slacks and a pair of flats.

Well this was my ROSS Dress for Less haul. I really feel like I got some good items, that I can either dress up or dress down depending on how I feel that day. If you are in the Topeka area, I definitely recommend checking out the store, they have a variety of items for a good price and you never know what hidden treasures you may find!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little haul, and I hope you got some ideas for possible outfits you can create. If you have enjoyed this post and would like to take it a step further, watch this Huge Summer Clothing Haul from various stores, from one of my favorite youtubers.

Post #4: My Top 5 Drugstore Hair Products!

Hello Beautiful People!

So last week, I shared with you all my Top 10 Drugstore Beauty Products--this week I will be sharing with you my Top 5 Drugstore Hair Products. I know that some hair products can get fairly expensive, so today I will be sharing with you my favorite, budget friendly hair products. I get compliments on my hair all of the time! I actually love that, not even going to lie--and I can only thank my parents (for the great genes) and these products (for helping me take care of my hair). I believe that keeping your hair healthy and beautiful is definitely a must! So, if you would like to know what I consider some of the best hair products that are fairly inexpensive..well, continue reading to find out!

All of the products that I will be listing are products that I use on an everyday basis. These are products that I have repurchased over, and over again--BECAUSE THEY ARE THAT GOOD (and cheap). You can find all of these products at Walmart, which is were I purchase mine.

Shampoo:
·      OGX Anti –Breakage Keratin Oil Shampoo 13 fl. oz. $5.74
I have been using OGX shampoos for quite some time now. What I like about this shampoo is, well first of all, how amazing it smells! Shampoo smells are important to me. I wash my hair everyday and so I have to have a shampoo that smells delicious and with a scent that is not too overpowering--this one is perfect! Another thing I love about this shampoo is that it makes my hair feel soft. I have really thick hair, so I love a shampoo that can make my hair feel soft. This shampoo also helps with anti-breakage which is something I need considering I straighten my hair everyday. ALSO, I currently repurchased this shampoo and at Walmart they were selling the 19.5 fl. oz. for the same price as the 13 fl. oz, --so if you are wishing to give this shampoo a try, right now is a perfect time!

Conditioner:
·      TRESemme Moisture Rich Luxurious Conditioner with pump 39 fl. oz. $5.98
I honestly don't use conditioner every time I wash my hair. However, when I do use conditioner I always use this one! I bought the large container and it has lasted me a super long time, which I highly appreciate because I spent $6 on it. With this conditioner I feel like you don't have to apply much, and in fact this came with a pump and one pump is the perfect amount of conditioner for my hair. I definitely recommend you trying this conditioner, it leaves your hair feeling really nice after applying it and the smell is just right.

Dry Shampoo:
·      TRESemme Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo 4.3 fl. oz. $4.94
I LOVE DRY SHAMPOO. For the days when I have skipped on washing my hair, or if I'm running late and I don't have time to wash my hair--this comes in to save the day. Honestly, before discovering dry shampoo, some mornings were really rough. What I love the most about this dry shampoo, is the fact that I can skip a day of washing my hair and when I apply this, it actually looks like I did wash my hair AND it adds volume, making my hair look fantastic. This is absolutely one of my favorite hair products and I definitely recommend getting this and having it somewhere in your home.

Hairspray:
·      TRESemme TRES Mega Firm Control Hairspray 11 oz. $4.92
This hairspray is awesome! I tease my hair to add a little extra volume, I also straighten it almost every day and curl it from time to time. With the help of this hairspray I can maintain my hair looking great almost all day. This hairspray is really firm and you don't have to spray much for it to do wonders. My hair is also really hard to curl and maintain the curls because it is so thick and I have so much hair. However, with this hairspray I am able to maintain my curls for hours and it allows for everything to stay in place. I highly recommend getting this hairspray over any other hairspray!

Heat Protector:

·      Aussie Hair Insurance Heat Protecting Hair Shine Spray 8.5 fl. oz. $2.97
So, I use heat on my hair almost every day. Whether it is from a straightener or a curling iron, or even just from a blow dryer, I almost always use heat on my hair. Using heat on your hair can really damage your hair and cause the ends to break and even cause your hair to look and feel not so great. This heat protector is one of my favorites because it not only protects my hair from the heat damage, but it also gives it shine which leaves my hair looking really great at the end. I use to not use heat protectant, but my ends would always start to split. After beginning to use this, I have definitely seen and improvement, therefore I recommend this if you use heat on your hair.

Well guys, there you have it--My Top 5 Drugstore Hair products! Like I said before, I recommend using these products because not only are they wonderful, but also inexpensive! Now if you have enjoyed this post and are feeling like you want to give your hair some love, check out this easy beach waves tutorial. Definitely one of my favorite looks, and so easy to recreate!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and found this information helpful. Thanks for reading!

Post #3: Easy DIY Personalized Jewelry Holder

Hello Beautiful People!

Today we are going to be doing a DIY project which I am highly excited about. This is going to be a quick and easy personalized jewelry holder, so let's get started!

First, these are the items you will need:

I purchased all of my items at Walmart and spent $8 dollars!

  • Canvas Panel (white 8x10)  $2
  • Upholstery Nails (in antique brass) $1
  • Picture Hanging Kit $1
  • Acrylic Paint (in vanilla ice cream) $2
  • Permanent Paint Marker $2
  • Ruler and Pencil
  • Hammer

Step 1:
Paint your canvas (if you wish to) and let it dry before you begin.

Step 2:
Grab your ruler and your pencil and on the bottom longer side of the canvas make marking 1 inch apart. This is where you will nail your upholstery nails to hang your jewelry on.

Step 3:
Decorate your canvas however your heart desires! I decided to put my initials on it and write it down with the marker.

Step 4:
Turn your canvas around and on the back hammer down the picture hanging kit. Depending on the kit you have, you may want to put one on each corner for more stability!

Step 5:
Take out your upholstery nails and hammer down a nail on each marking you made. When doing this be careful if the nail goes through the canvas so that you don't accidentally cut yourself. Then carefully turn the canvas around and hammer the nail downward to secure it.

Step 6:
Find a beautiful wall to hang your personalized jewelry holder on.

Step 7:
Add jewelry to your holder and you're done!

Watch this video below for more details and to see how I created my personalized jewelry holder!

Post #2: My Top 10 Drugstore Beauty Products!

Hello Beautiful People!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day today! So I was thinking, as I am beginning this blog focused on beauty and fashion--I should share with you all my top/most favorite beauty drugstore products. Since I am in college, but I also love make-up, I try to find ways in which I can have my make-up items and still be able to budget! Being a college student doesn't quite allow you to live life in luxury at all times, and high-end beauty products can get fairly pricey. Therefore, I have decided to share with you all some products that are my most favorite, can be found at any drugstore and are at a reasonable price! I love getting good products for a cheap price, and I'm excited to share with you all some good quality products that won't hurt your wallet! So, let's begin.

To share my products I will just put them in the order in which I would apply them onto my face. I will also list the prices, and all of these products can be found at Walmart or Target!

Face:
·      Olay- Fresh Effects Long Live Moisture $16
I love this product because it leaves my face feeling soft and it gives it a satin finish. This moisturizer is also very lightweight so it doesn't feel like my face is loaded with lotion--it actually just feels soft and almost as if it wasn't there. I apply this before I put on my make-up, I wait a minute to let it set in and then I put on my foundation.

·      Maybelline Baby Skin—Instant Pore Eraser $6
I absolutely love this! I use this everyday that I do my make-up. I put this on after I let my moisturizer set in. I put it in the areas of my face where my pores are most visible (so on my cheeks and around my nose) however, you can also put it all over your face if you wish. This allows my blemishes and skin to have a soft effect and it allows my foundation to look smooth and beautiful!

Foundation:
·      Milani- Conceal + Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation + Concealer (in warm beige 05) $9
This foundation has the concealer also mixed in it. I like this foundation because it is pretty full coverage and it will cover your blemishes but it doesn't leave your face loaded with make-up! When I apply this foundation it leaves my face with a dewy yet natural look, which looks great and for the price I definitely recommend this!

Face Powder:
·      Milani- Prep+Set+Go Transparent Face Powder $9
I really enjoy this face powder. Honestly, I have never really been a powder kind of girl, but I love this powder because it is transparent, so it matches perfectly with whatever foundation I'm wearing. This powder also gives my foundation a softer look making my skin look beautiful and soft!

Concealer:
·      Hard Candy – Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer with concealer pencil (in tan) $6
If you do not have this concealer, I definitely recommend you go getting one at your earliest convenience.  I absolutely love this concealer, it is my favorite concealer of all time. I put this in my under-eye area to cover my dark circles and it leaves my eyes looking bright and makes them stand out (which I love). With this concealer you also don't have to apply much product (so it will last you a while) I just use a pinch and it does wonders!

Bronzer:
·      NYC Face Bronzer (in sunny) $5
I have repurchased this bronzer many times! I absolutely love this item because it is only $5 and it is perfect for contouring. I apply this on my cheekbones to add more of a defined line and it makes my cheeks look amazing!

·      NYX Wonder Stick (in universal) $12
This is another bronzer/highlighter that I absolutely adore. I use this everyday that I do my make-up as well. I have been loving this for 2 months, and honestly, I have no idea how I was doing my make-up before I had it. I use this to contour around my face and my cheekbones and it is super easy to blend with your foundation and it is also really easy to apply!

Eyeliner:
·      Wet N Wild Megaliner Liquid Eyeliner (in black) $3
This eyeliner has been my top favorite for quite a while. I use this to create my winged eyeliner and it stays put all day. It is also very dark and easy to remove, but it does last a long time and I always get compliments on my eyeliner when using this!

Mascara:
·      L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Waterproof Mascara (in carbon black) $6
This is my holy grail mascara. I love this item. I have purchased high-end mascara before but I always keep coming back to this. This mascara leaves my eyelashes looking long and it makes them stand out. Definitely recommend this mascara over any other drugstore mascara, it does wonders and like the name it adds volume to your eyelashes!

Lips:
·      Milani Color Statement Lip Liner (in All Natural 04) $4
I love Milani's lip liners because they are so smooth and easy to apply. The formula is great and the color is always bold. This lip liner stays on your lips for quite a while. It does not clump up and it also easy to remove. I use this almost everyday, and I absolutely love it!

Well there you have it guys, these are my top drugstore beauty products. I definitely recommend getting these items. I personally love them-- they are amazing and cheap!

If you liked this post, and would like to see other drugstore products that are amazing, feel free to watch this video below by Ciaoobelllaxo. In the video she is doing a drugstore beauty haul, she is one of my favorite youtubers, and I really feel like you will find this video fun and interesting!
